Building upon the past decade of Nevill Holt Opera (2013-2023), Nevill Holt Festival launches in 2024 and will now not just host opera but also music, theatre, art, jazz and contemporary music, alongside conversations with leading novelists, historians, broadcasters and artists.

It will take place from 1st – 26th June across the stunningly landscaped grounds of the 13th century Nevill Holt Estate, which is home to important works by some of Britain’s most acclaimed contemporary artists.

The inaugural Festival will be curated by James Dacre.

Nevill Holt

The Nevill Holt estate, upon which our 2019 RIBA award winning theatre is built, dates back to the thirteenth century and has long been a home for the promotion of the arts, which have been championed by its many famous owners, from XXXX to Nancy Cunard and now its current owner David Ross.

With breath-taking panoramic views over three counties, the historic Nevill Holt estate dates back to the 13th century. Our theatre is surrounded by stunning gardens designed by Chelsea gold medal winner Rupert Golby and managed by Head Gardener Andy Bretherick.

Visitors can enjoy outstanding pieces of modern British sculpture, which feature throughout the gardens, including works by Antony Gormley, Rachel Whiteread, Allen Jones, Marc Quinn, Conrad Shawcross and Sean Henry.
